With the closing of Master Host Inn, SharCon converted the existing hotel to Travelodge Gateway Washington DC and continued work on the hotel and building our business and our reputation. Several years later, the time had come to replace the Travelodge which provided the opportunity to build on a large parcel of land, in the highly sought after, New York Avenue Corridor. It was strategically important for these properties to be separately branded hotels bringing exciting new growth to the area. Upon approval, SharCon proceeded with plans for the addition of two, limited services properties.

The first hotel to replace Travelodge was the Hotel Arboretum. Holiday Inn Express & Suites Washington DC Northeast which opened in May 2008. The lobby area was dramatically refreshed with updated decor and coordinating furnishings were later added to completely transform the space. SharCon is very pleased to be part of the brand new look known as "Formula Blue" which changes in 2018.

SharCon also has the honor of opening the first Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott in Washington DC in May of 2008. The lobby and breakfast areas were refreshed in 2016, and in 2017 all guestrooms will be remodeled with new furnishings, upgraded artwork and more. New, stylish carpeting has also been placed in hallways throughout the hotel.
